Fertility | Conception

We all take fertility for granted and think that it will be available when we are ready to start a family.

Fortunately, for most this is the case, but statistics state that fertility problems affect 1 in 6 couples.

Both men and women can be affected with fertility issues, approximately 40% is attributed to the male partner, 40% to the female partner, and the remaining 20% being a combination of both partners or is “Unexplained”.

Definition of Infertility: When a couple have been free of contraception and actively been trying to conceive (having regular intercourse) for 12 months, (or 6 months when the woman is over 35 years old) and has not been able to conceive.

What may be causing fertility issues?

  • Ovulatory disorders
  • Uterine disorders
  • Sperm disorders
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Immune system

There are many ways that can increase your chances of conceiving a child naturally, such as lifestyle and dietary changes, making time to relax and de-stress, and looking into complementary therapies such as Fertility Massage or Fertility Reflexology.
